Classic Dawn Boats Corp.

$165,000 USD

Vancouver, BC

Here  is a rare opportunity to buy a real Classic from the Golden age of Yachting. " SUNRISE NEW YORK'  built in 1930 by the Dawn Boat Corporation at Clason Point in the state of New York.  She has been on the West Coast since 1946, first to Portland, then to Seattle. when around 1972 the Ford Lehmans were installed. Sold in 1994 and then moved to Vancouver where it's been kept in a  boathouse and very properly maintained by two appreciative owners. The current owner since 1996.  She has seen all kinds of modern upgrades, but all to on board systems, not the layout or decor, that is still original. Sleeping accommodation for six, two heads,  Proper U shaped galley finished all in Stainless Steel, Salon and lower helm is spacious, with excellent visibility all around. Enhanced by a flybridge for sunny day cruising or docking, covered aft deck with table and chairs for outdoor living. Three staterooms, two  forward and one aft with fireplace for separation and privacy for guests. Powered by a pair of very reliable Ford Lehman 120 hp engines, gives you great cruising ability. Time to be proud and show off your new boat,  she has received several awards at Classic Boat Festivals and actually should be shown to the world.  Buyers from the East Coast, this boat would easily be transferable back home,  maybe its time she went home to be seen and appreciated on its 100th birthday and show it off to the New York boating crowd.

Elements of Sunshine New York

Built in the days of pure craftsmanship by learned shipwrights. All wood, Hull is cypress planking on oak frames, cabin and superstructure is mahogany and the decks are canvas on tongue and groove planking. As soon as you come along side you see the skill and patience used to paint the exterior, creating a perfect barrier to keep moisture and water out of the boat at the same time as looking just beautiful. Step aboard onto the side deck, enter the inside from two side doors or the aft deck. You immediately feel the elegance of a classic build. Wood soles, mahogany trim and finish throughout the boat. light finished ceilings with dark cross beams. Lots of windows and port lights, with overhead hatches to let in plenty of daylight. This is the only boat I have seen with beveled glass around all the windows in the salon, this gives it a real touch of class. Forward of the Salon are two separate staterooms, the forward one is sometimes considered a crew quarters, a single high bunk, toilet, sink and plenty of storage, Aft is the guest room, single bunk on one side and double bunk on the other, storage drawers and cupboards for your boating needs. Aft the salon is the Stainless Steel U shaped galley, counter tops and sink all together, Propane stove and oven, Under the counter Refrigerator. Good daylight through the large window.  The Main heads is opposite, Silent sea water toilet, porcelain sink, shower with base on resilient flooring, mahogany cabinets and medicine cabinet.  Aft again is the main stateroom, full width, here you find an upholstered settee which converts  into a double berth.  Diesel fuel fireplace, Storage drawers and two hanging closets, Carpeted wood floors and opening hatches and port lights.   From the aft cabin you access the cockpit, hard cover with side curtains for full enclosure, table and chairs will be your hangout spot for those warm and enjoyable summer evenings. Last is the cabin roof flybridge, classic rowing tender with swing out davit system, bench seat across the roof with bridge controls on the port side. Take your time and enjoy the scenery, All outside hatches, tender, flybridge, winches, have full canvas covers to keep out and bad weather.
