Hunter sailboats have always been known for smart designs that focus on on-board liveability. A large and secure cockpit, three staterooms and two heads, plenty of space for entertaining friends and family, a remarkable galley, and thoughtfully designed for extended cruising, Valhalla delivers.
Always a local boat, and never chartered, this is an excellent example of this popular cruising boat. She is set up for comfortable cruising throughout the Pacific North West and beyond. She is well maintained and super clean, showing real pride of ownership. And importantly, Valhalla is ready for immediate enjoyment. Now offered by her third owners, who are in the market for their next boat.
Descend the companionway down gently sloped stairs with strong stainless steel framing, stainless handrails, and teak treads. Galley to port, nav station and guest head to starboard, guest cabin aft and to starboard, and kids bunk cabin aft and to port. Salon midships, and owners cabin and private head and shower stall forward.
Valhalla has a hand-rubbed teak interior with lots of natural light through numerous portlights, overhead hatches and hull windows. Storage abounds in lockers, shelves, cubbies and bins all through the salon, galley, cabins and the heads.
The owner's stateroom is forward and rivals that of larger yachts; with an island berth, two hanging lockers, and ample floor space for changing.
The guest cabin is aft and to starboard
The guest head is to starboard opposite the galley with access for guests from the salon, and private access from the starboard guest cabin
Aft and to port is the third cabin with twin bunks and storage under. This is a smart and well done custom alteration from the original design which would have had a work desk and stool. This current arrangement offers two excellent berths and plenty more storage.
The salon is the full beam of the boat with a U-shaped settee to port, and to starboard, two single settees with a cocktail table.
The U-shaped galley of the Hunter 460 is outstanding with an impressive amount of storage, refrigeration, and work space.
The navigation station is to starboard with a forward facing bench and table.
The deck and cockpit are designed with safety and usability in mind. The cockpit is comfortably beamy for lounging or for working the lines, and yet secure during a passage.
The side decks to the foredeck are wide, unencumbered with shrouds inboard, and well protected with stainless hand rails, stanchions and double lifelines.
Throughout there is plenty of storage for all cruising and safety gear.
Hunter’s trademark cockpit arch keeps the mainsheet traveler out of the way.
The companionway is long and with the added stainless steel handrails, makes entering and exiting the yacht safe and comfortable.
Valhalla is a powerful sloop rig with large mainsail and 110% overlapping genoa.
AC and DC power services the vessel through circuit breaker panels with appropriate voltage and ampere gauges. 110VAC provided by 30 Amp shore connection.
At sea, the batteries are charged by engine driven alternator, and while at a dock, by the charger via shorepower.
