Board from the dock to a generous swim platform, then through the transom door to the cockpit.
Enter the salon through the aft door, or enter the pilothouse from the port or starboard side deck doors; all Dutch doors with teak interior panels.
The salon and galley are on one level, separated by a granite bar / work space.
From the salon and galley area, up steps to the pilothouse, or down steps to the accommodations.
Up to the pilothouse is the operational centre of the yacht, with Stidd helm seat, guest settee and table, and quick access to all communication and navigation systems, vessel controls, and systems control and monitoring.
Then up to the flybridge with upper helm station, after deck lounge, and boat deck.
Down to the accommodations area with a central foyer leading aft to the engine room, forward and port to the guest stateroom with private head and shower opposite, and all the way forward to the master stateroom, also with private ensuite head and shower.
Valley Girl is finished throughout in teak, with a soft satin varnish, and with a traditional teak and holly sole.
Cabinet and locker doors throughout the boat are louvered for added ventilation.
All opening port lights, windows and hatches have bug screens.
Down broad steps from the port side of the salon and galley to the accommodations foyer. Engine room is aft, and staterooms and heads midships and forward.
Owners' Stateroom
The owners' stateroom is forward and features an island queen berth with steps up port and starboard, and outstanding storage in over a dozen lockers, drawers, shelves and hanging lockers.
Owners’ Ensuite Head
Guest Stateroom
The guest stateroom is midships and to port off the foyer and features a upper and lower berths. both berths slide inboard with cushioned inserts to make them wider.
Storage in a hanging locker, and numerous lockers and drawers on the forward bulkhead and under the berth.
Guest Head
The salon is a warm and welcoming space with leather-upholstered settees to both port and starboard. To starboard is a straight settee and to port is an L-settee with a teak table. The flatscreen TV hides behind a sliding panel in the galley bar, and is positioned for good viewing from all salon seating. Also aft in the salon floor is the notable Selene commissary storage locker with additional freezer capacity.
Joinery and finishing throughout is teak with a satin varnish.
The galley is U-shaped for security, and is well laid out with everything needed for any ambitious chef, and with plenty of lighting and ventilation. The raised bar to the salon not only adds prepping and service space, but also provides a subtle separation between the salon and galley when entertaining.
The pilothouse is the operational heart of the yacht. Aft is the L-shaped settee, upholstered in leather, with an adjustable teak table. Port and starboard are Diamond Seaglaze dutch doors leading to the side decks and foredeck, for additional visibility and accessibility while docking, and to quickly and safely adjust fenders and lines as needed.
One of the Selene 47’s top features is the ability to access the flybridge, upper helm and boat deck from the pilothouse, rather than by an exterior ladder from the cockpit. This arrangement is more secure and convenient, and makes space in the cockpit, and on the flybridge deck, more usable. This is a sought after feature, and is unusual on other vessels of this class and size.
The flybridge has been made into an outstanding lounging and entertaining area with an L-shaped settee surrounding a large table.
The upper helm has two Todd helm seats with rebuilt swivels, canvas covers, and an array of navigation and communication equipment, and vessel controls.
Just aft of the flybridge lounge area is the boat deck with tender storage, chocks and davit crane with winch.
Tender:
The tender is a 2013 Apex ABL411 FRG RIB (11’) with a 2013 Nissan 20 hp outboard.
The swim platform is part of the hull mold and is clad in two-tone non-skid fibreglass. From there through the transom door to the cockpit and side decks. The cockpit and side decks are covered for protection from sun and rain. These side deck covers also protect the salon and galley windows from rain, the benefit being that there is no closed-in feeling while aboard during heavy rains. Exterior handrails are 1.25” stainless steel.
Moving forward, the Portuguese bridge is central to the striking lines of this handsome yacht, and is also quite functional with numerous storage lockers. The high bulwarks and covered side decks add safety and confidence in a seaway.
The tender sits on the boat deck, aft of the flybridge settee.

AC and DC power services the vessel through circuit breaker panels, backlit for convenience, and with appropriate voltage and ampere gauges.
AC power is provided by 50 Amp shore connection, by the generator set, or, for lighter loads, by a 4,000 Watt inverter, powered by the house bank of batteries.
There are both fore and aft deck shore power connections, for easy access to a dock supply.
DC power is also distributed through the circuit breaker protected panel. There are banks of batteries for the house onboard systems, a dedicated start bank for engine and genset starting, and a separate bank for the thrusters, each with dedicated charging systems. All batteries are AGMs.
At sea, the batteries are charged by engine or generator driven alternators and while at a dock, by the inverters and chargers via shorepower.
Motive power is provided by a dependable Cummins QSB5.9L common rail diesel engine rated at 330 hp with approximately 1,600 hours. There is adequate room to access all sides of the engine, and the surrounding systems.
Engine room access is via a large door from the accommodations foyer, or through the salon floor for more comprehensive access if ever needed.
